Who would do this?

Remember our little boy from yesterday-the one with the abscessed tooth? We talked to Tefig today to find out what happened after they left us yesterday. When they arrived at the little boy’s home his mother was not there, but his father was. His mother was away at work so Tefig was able to ask his father about going to see a dentist. His father was shocked, “Who would do this? Who would do this?” Tefig was able to share Jesus with this man. He said, “People who love Jesus want to do this and want to cover the financial costs.” That one sentence opened up the door for a conversation about God and His son, Jesus. Tefig, the little boy, and his father all went to the dentist. They were able to remove one tooth. They other was too infected to do anything with. However, they are convinced that they will be able to fix it when the infection clears. The dentist and his dental hygienist wanted to know, “Who would do this?” Tefig was able to share the gospel with two more people.
People who love Jesus did this.
There is a sense of purpose in being able to help someone who is sick or injured. I am beyond thankful that God placed that little boy on that one play field. I am so proud of our team members who sought out the little boy who was crying on the sidelines. I'm thankful for Jackie who continues to give, who continues to ask, and who continues to make sure that each child has the care that he/she needs...even if it means that the money comes from her own pocket. Why? Because every single one of the people on our team love Jesus. We can't wait for them to love Jesus, too. Pray for that.

Oh, guess who showed up today? :)

He gave Jackie a HUGE smile, ran, jumped up for a hug, and they were able to have their moment. You don't need to speak someone's language for moments like that. Does it help? Absolutely. Without our translators, our field reps, and the local men from the church we may never have been able to carry out the love of Jesus. We are so thankful that God put each and every one of those people on that field, on that day, for that little boy.

Oh, his name? His name is Marvin (Marvie).
